HALLANDALE BEACH, FL – The Rainbow 6 Carryover Jackpot was cracked Friday at Gulfstream Park with one lucky ticketholder on the Dutch Caribbean island of Curacao earning a $618,643.20 windfall with a 20-cent ticket.

The ticket was one of 53,861 20-cent single tickets totaling $10,772.20 purchased in Curacao.

The Rainbow 6 had gone unsolved for 13 consecutive programs since a mandatory payout of a North American record pick 6 pool of $15.285 million yielded multiple winners of $89,456 March 26.

The Rainbow 6 spanned Races 4-9 during a six-race sequence that yielded one winning favorite. The winning combination of 1-6-9-5-1-9 was kicked off by Zeta Zody ($8) in the fourth, followed by Keepin It Zeel ($92.20), Michaelslittleally ($43.40), Starship Maiden ($8), Unbridled Hero ($10) and favored With a Kiss ($6.80).

Heading into the final leg of the Rainbow 6, there were single tickets live on all 12 starters, assuring that the jackpot would be hit.

The carryover jackpot is only paid out when there is a single unique ticket sold with all six winners. On days when there is no unique ticket, 70 percent of that day’s pool goes back to those bettors holding tickets with the most winners while 30 percent is carried over to the jackpot pool.

There was a $496,071.59 carryover going into Friday’s Rainbow 6 wagering.

The Rainbow 6 will start anew Saturday, spanning Races 5-10.

Saturday’s card will feature a Late Pick 5 with a carryover of $35,902.37. The Late Pick 5 sequence covers Races 6-10.

There will also be a $2,274.27 Super Hi-5 carryover for Saturday’s first race.

First race post time for Saturday’s 10-race card is set for 12:55 p.m.

Note: Jockeys Eddie Castro and Tyler Gaffalione each rode three winners Friday. Castro found the winner’s circle aboard Hopefaithjoy ($6) in the first, Michaelslittleally ($43.40) in the sixth and Starship Maiden (8) in the seventh. Gaffalione scored aboard Pomera ($3.40) in the third, Zeta Zody ($8) in the fourth and Unbridled Hero ($10) in the eighth.
